Default Crew Vs Extended Cab

Hey guys just asking if it would be better to get a crew cab or extended cab fx4. Which one handles better off road and on snow/ice? Let me know what yall think and why.

You want a short wheelbase for trails. You want a long wheelbase for stability on ice. There's not enough difference between an extended cab and a supercrew to make either one significantly better than the other in either situation - driving skill and tire choice will have a much bigger effect.

I like extended cabs myself, but it doesn't really matter

That depends... Do you haul more people or more truck stuff? If you need the bed go extended the screw beds are rather small. If you need more of a get around truck to carry people and a few things then get a screw, I use my 8ft bed way to often for me to have a screw, I haul lots of stuff for my buddies with screws, 4 loads for them Is one load for me.

I would kill for even a 6.5 bed on my screw. I have to have the four doors, but this tiny bed is about as useful as **** on a hog.

Its personal choice, but for me the reason I chose extended cab:

6.5 bed without extra length
my kids are small now so plenty of room.

I would say both are the same, but with a 6.5' bed the weight is a little unbalanced with the bed empty. I would recommend putting sandbags in the bed to put some weight over wheels when it snows.

In this year range I like the extended cab because the crew cabs are based off the Expeditions, so no tow mirrors, and I believe they are not as wide as an extended cab? Not sure on that one though. I wish they made a crew cab with the 6.5' bed. That is the only reason I doubt my next truck will be a 10th is because I need at least a 6.5' bed, and I like the space of the crew cabs. My dogs don't like to get into the extended cab, two big German shepherds in a small space isn't too fun for them lol.
