Cranking
1999 F150 110k. A couple extra seconds of cranking sometimes. When extreme cold, I have to "help" it after startup by feathering the pedal a little bit for a few minutes. If I dont, it will fire up to startup RPM and then when it is dropping back down it will just die. I'm guessing bad pump but not sure. Fuel filter is new. Have not checked pressure yet at the schrader valve. After it starts and will idle, it runs fine. No issues on hard accelerations. Maybe a little stutter at idle once in awhile. Head gasket is out but that will get replaced another day. Any ideas would be helpful...Thanks!
What does "head gasket is out" mean? Head gaskets are very important.
If you're running your truck engine without a head gasket park it until you have one installed. Gaskets do more than just even out slight differences in block to head mating surfaces. Too much to go in to here. Even the 429 dry deck racing engines that didn't use a head gasket had copper crush rings at the cylinders.
Truck has been leaking oil and thinking it might be the head gasket is what I meant by that sorry
.
Had a lean code come up one day but went away after a few miles. Was thinking check valve but will try to do some more homework first. Thanks
