CPM question
I have choosen to start a new thread.
The original one was regarding stalling and a number of suggestions were checked but the problem is not solved (truck is in the shop 3 months!).
I replaced the MAF and the PCM (that costed some bucks) but have not lead to the solution.
Hope you don't mind. I hope that a new tread will lead to a different approach and hopefully someone comes up with something new.
Facts:
Error codes indicate MAF sensor issue (P0102) -MAF sensor is NEW.
4 wires to the MAF are checked (not broken etc etc).
1 provides 12.8 V straight (hot).
1 is ground
1 is supposed to have 4.5 V (three PCM have been used, original and two new ones, one provided .2V rest nothing)
1 will provide the return signal voltage (that will then be used in the PCM)
(of course if the 4.5 V is not there the signal to the PCM will be incorrect leading to the stalling etc).
With a Ford Explorer (same type setup) the 4.5V is available directly when the ignition key is turned.
The question I have is :
If there is no 4.5V with my truck and is it unlikely that 3 PCM's are faulty is there any trigger (device) that would have the PCM provide the 4.5V ?
If that is the case that device could be not properly working.
Really hope anyone can help me here !
John
