Default Couple leaf spring questions

I was told by a couple people I need new leaf springs. It is an expensive job for what needs to be done (I was quoted between 6-700 dollars). I am trying to determine if my springs are actually worn out or not. My back end sits lower than the front, but I have the 4" blocks in the back and the torsion bars cranked up a little bit.

In the picture I have attached, does it look like my springs are worn out to you?

Do you have pics of your springs that I can compare them to?

They definitely look a little flat to me. And if it sits lower than the front with 4" blocks, it may be true. Do you haul a lot to where they would wear out? What do the shocks look like?

Definitely see some wrap in the springs. Spend the money and get a set of quality lift springs. Quit being cheap. It will ride better and last longer that way.

I don't really haul a lot besides garbage and the occasional load of gravel or dirt.

Would stock leaf springs be good? I've been contemplating pulling some springs off of junk yard trucks (obviously not the ones where they got hit or damaged) to replace mine with.

Not if you plan on leaving those blocks in there. Blocks increase axle wrap. Axle wrap kills springs. If you have to have a lifted truck to drive around town in, at least stop screwing around with budget lifts and do it right.

How do I stop axle wrap? Get a traction bar?

I'm trying to go through expenses. I am seeing the custom leafs for upwards of 600 bucks. Or I can get the leafs from a scrap yard at 75/ea and a trac bar at around 200 if I don't make it.

Blocks are not a very good solution for gaining height. Stacked blocks are even worse. Putting a traction bar on to solve just ONE of the problems with stacked blocks is like putting a bandaid on a bandaid, and if you build traction bars with the same attention to detail that you wire your aftermarket lights, you're asking for trouble.

You gotta pay to play, Red. Modding trucks the right way takes time and effort, and if you're going to drive your modded truck around on roads that you share with other people, you need to do it right. Lift springs are the best option to gain height, and if you can't afford them then yank the blocks and drop the torsion bars and enjoy having a reliable safe truck until you can. Failing that, get those $75 junkyard spring packs and take them apart to add leaves to your own pack to get the height you want. But stacked blocks and traction bars so you can look good in the Cabelas parking lot is just a really bad idea.

I have personally never seen anyone riding a 6" lift on just springs, but hey, I guess I'm not looking hard enough lol. I also haven't seen a kit that doesn't come with new blocks.

I don't want traction bars to look good, in my opinion they look bad. What I am trying to do is save money. Clearly my leaf springs went bad for a reason, so why would I replace the part before fixing the problem that caused that part to fail?
