Default cooling system

will pressure testing the cooling system tell me where the coolant leak is. how do you do this on a 97 4.2

Pressure testing the cooling system will expose leaks that are external. It is also used in conjunction with internal engine diagnosis such as blown head gaskets if the gasket condition puts coolant into the combustion chamber, fills up the same and is blown out the spark plug holes when the the engine is cranked over with the starter. It is by no means foul proof.
