Default coolant return hose

Ok, so on my way home from work I heard a slight pop under the hood and then there was a LARGE smoke cloud behind my truck.

I pop the hood and antifreeze covering everything, after the smoke cleared I found that the return line from the heater had popped.

So, anybody have any idea of how much a dealership will charge for it?

One Milllllllion Dollars!

Is it a preformed hose?

Even so, most part stores carry the preformed hoses.

Heater hoses are a job and a half to change, takes a special tool and skill to release the locking tabs. On my 02 4.2L, it is a tight installation. I could not get the tool to work properly, (it was probably me), I ended up cutting the connector with side cutters. Just be very careful, heater cores are very fragile and can crack easily. I can't offer any prices.

I kind of cheated since I didn't need the old hose anymore, I used my pocket knife to break one of the clips on the old hose and then just slid the new hose on
