Confused
I have a 97 f150 it sits outside year round. Went to start it in the morning got nothing starter would not engage but had power. All the lights came on ran it through the gears it is an automatic tried to start it and nothing.
Came out two hours later and it fired right up.
It had happened before but it started after three times. Cleaned battery post and starter connections. Not sure what to look at next. Can anyone help
The last time it had done it before it had been about a month.
Came out two hours later and it fired right up.

My truck did this the day after I bought it. Same thing, lights worked, battery had 12.8 volts, but no start. Dealership came and towed it back to the garage. As soon as it got lifted, It started right up. Dealership ran some test and found that it had a dead cell It had the volts, but not the amps to turn over the starter. So have your battery checked for amps.
