Hi there i am new to the forums and have been through many of the threads. I have a few questions and hope i dont get flamed..... first what years do parts crossover? What i mean is are 03 seats compatable in a 99? i have a 99 f150 and want to put some leather seats in and generaly redo the interior. Also i am thinking about a full motor replacement i have a v8 triton 4.6 should i stick with that motor due to compatability issues? all and all i have a great body great interior all and all the truck is in good shape but the motor has 290kms on it the way i see it if i get a new motor and some minor work done the truck could last another ten years.... or am i mistaken and just drive it till it dies? thanks for any input guys!

 

I would stick with the 4.6, but if you want to do a swap anything is possible.

 

First of all welcome. Second I don't think you will get flamed here ...possibly on another forum. I'm not gonna say names. People here are really friendly and more than willing to help with any question to the best of their ability.
That said , I believe all the parts interchange from 97-03. (Someone will correct me if I am wrong). I'm hoping they are I am starting a project this spring using 2 98's ,an 01 and a 02 to make 1 truck.
As far as the motor I don't believe you can change from 4.6 to 5.4 without changing computers. (Again I will be corrected if wrong). The way I look at it the only stupid question is the one you don't ask.

 

i agree about the question thing! I am pretty sure im just gonna get a ford crate 4.6 and have it installed.... the issue im having is a little white smoke that might be caused from injector cleaner but who knows..... im gonna drive the pee out of it for a couple of weeks and see if it stops smoking. As for the interrior i am hoping i can use 03 leather interior with bucket seats without any welding or mods but i cant seem to find any info on that subject. Does anyone know about using any parts from an 03 in a 99?
