Default cold air intake...problems?

i put on a cold air intake on about two months ago and now im getting an check engine light that said that im running to lean....how can i correct this without taking it to a dealer and paying out the wazzu....do i just need a programer and if so which one...its a 2002 f150 4.2L v6...with a boom cold air intake kit..

A tuner, chip, programmer will cure the problem.

What CAI did you purchase?

You shouldn't be having a problem running lean with 97-03s..

Try cleaning your MAF sensor. Buy the tool and the correct cleaner and you'll be fine.



The oil from the filter may have got to the sensor. Read up on the DIY and handle sensor with CARE! It's a tiny little hair then wire and doesn't need much to break it. Should take you about 10 minutes.

thank guys, i took my battery off for like an hour and it reset, but i will get some cleaner for it aswell...thanks...and its a BOMZ cai.....
