Default Coil Question

Just checking coils on truck as have a misfire. All coils read 1.2 ohms, and one is around 1.4. Book says they should be 0.55 or replace if not. So do need to replace all 8 coils? Any thoughts would be helpful.
Thanks

Your alright, that test is invalid unless they are completely shot. And if they were completlly shot, you would have had a CEL without a doubt. Testing this way WILL NOT show if the coil is defective, in other words, has low grade misfiring issues.

The ONLY to test for that is with an Android Phone or Computer software. IE, live data with the torque application or program.

I wouldn't bother with those readings.

No CEL it was a occasional miss, now I have checked all coils and put new boots on it is a steady miss with no CEL.

Well I already told you what you can do for that. If you don't understand that option it's a crap shoot.

What most will do is purchase a new set of coils. All are on their way out.

Hop on ebay and purchase a set of Visteon 60-1000's or Motorcrafts DG 508's. I would go for the Visteons since they are available again.

Took all the coils out again, cleaned the spring and boots again as I managed to get some dielectric grease on the springs. Cleaned the throttle body and MAF, put it all back together and it runs so nice and smooth you don't even know it running.
Regards.

Great, yea, that will do it, dielectric on the contact points (too much of it) can inhibit pulse under certain loads. Sucks if you don't know that. That won't happen with regular plug wires because there more pressure to squeeze enough it out. The spring mount doesn't have the pressure. I've had to do same in the past.
