coil on plug
my 99 5.4 f150 has stock coil on plugs. i am looking into a complete tune up and found that i might have to spend 400+ on new coils. I know they are old probably stock factory ones and need replacement but i found accel super coils for 200 for a set of 8 on summitracing.com Does anyone know about the accel brand? id rather save the money on these but i cant get a straight answer on their quality and longevity. any help is good thanks
I would just stick with the COP's that you have and not spend the money to change them. When you do the tune up, inspect them and clean them up if necessary. Make sure you spark plug socket holes are clean before putting in your new plugs. Add some di-electric grease to the connection between the coil and spark plug and put them back together. Of course, if any of them look real damaged or you have any reason to suspect they may be either bad or could go bad, just replace the individual COP's.
