Default Coil pack questions.

Since you guys were so helpful with the injector stuff........

While I had the coil packs out of the way a couple of them got pulled up and out but the spring inside stayed rooted. They were stretched some. Is this a big issue? Do I need to replace them? Should I blow out the holes, replace the plugs? it runs fine so i'm not really sure it would be useful, just wondering.

Depends how bad you stretched them, they COULD buckle inside the boot trying to reinstall. I can't remember if boot kits come with new springs, I think they do.

You can look up boot kits , they're also called coil connector kits. You don't have coil packs btw. Coil packs are different and run a pack of cylinders. Your referring to coils or coil. The older trucks with 4.6L and 4.2L's used coil packs.

If you order online, try Rock Auto. Other than that any third party supplier should carry boot kits. They aren't that expensive.

Boots/springs are cheap. Every auto store has them . You can.mailorder for $2 ea, or pay $5 locally.

So were the Belden's at NAPA I just put on my Brothers vehicle - even had the same numbers in the mold. The AC Delco stuff is pretty decent!

There all kind of the same crap, but they work. You have to spend over a 100 bucks to get a great set of boots and connectors. But even the better sets use the same boot. What makes them great is the connectors inside. They don't use springs.

Yeah... but, for stock applications.. OEM style springs are fine.
