I have a 2001 4.6 supercrew. I had a cylinder #2 misfire pull up on the computer few days back and just got around to changing the coil. I put the new coil in,ran it for about 15 seconds and it blew a fuse inside the truck. checked the coil and it was burnt and blown. Put a new one in and tried again,same thing happened it just keeps blowing coils. please any suggestions before i take it to the dealer and spend lord knows how much i would really appreciate it.

 

You have a short to power somewhere. That is why the fuse is blowing. I would check all the wires going to your coils, and every wire around it.

 

Where could i find the wiring replacement. i search and search all i can find is the pigtail that clips into the coil and u have to splice it into the main for each cylinder. isnt there a full harness kit or something? i thought it was the spark plug but i pulled it and it looked fine almost new even. i changed it anyways and still boom blew another coil.
