Default coil advice

I've been looking at purchasing new COP's on Ebay. I'm torn between the AC Delco (name brand) and Motorcraft fleet surplus (scratched off PN).

Anyone had any luck or problems with either?

I would put motorcraft in I keep everything OEM but ac Delco is not a bad brand I wouldnt be too hesitant to try it I'd say go for whichever you want I don't see the harm especially if it's cheaper then 38 per coil pack at the dealership

I put on a set of accels from amazon for $175 for all 8. I have been happy so far. The boots seal much better too, but I'm comparing them to the worn factory ones I replaced.

How lang have you had the accels?

I have MC's now, but the boots are worn and I washed the engine yesterday and the water got past the boots seals. Truck barely ran.

I pulled all 8 boots this morning to let everything dry in the unjusally warm and sunny Michigan late winter.

I've only had the accels for 6 months, but the truck only had 45,000 miles and the factory motorcraft coils were already bad. It's a 2002 so age was a factor too, but with factory coil packs failing after so few miles I decided to try another brand.

I don't think the brand makes as much difference as keeping the plugs dry. I am assuming the moisture is what causes the coil packs to fail. I even greased the boots on the new coil packs to keep the rubber moist and to create a better seal. I'm not sure if it will help or not but it seems logical to me.

Moisture is exactly the problem. I washed engine and ended up having to pull all of them to dry off yesterday, which was a day later than I washed the engine bay. All the boots were soaked. I am going to re-assemle today and cross my fingers they work.

Regardless, I still am going to install new ones. This is my second rodeo with this issue.

All back together. Still having a misfire and CEL. I am going to hook upto OBD soon.

Anymore advice on new COP's is greatly appreciated.
