Code Reader for a 1997 4.6L

What kind of inexpensive code reader can I get for my F-150? I just want to use it to check codes as I eliminate issues.

what???? bumper = code reader?

to the original poster....i bought a little code reader off ebay. a small little thing. i think it was like $25. reads codes (has a little manual that you verify the numbers) and also clears them.
