Default Code Help

I need help figuring out how to fix these codes. I got a code for it running too lean. Code P0174. What would be the fix for that. I have a 2003 Ford f-150 xlt with the 5.4l triton v8. I just bought it for work with 180,000 miles on it. Last owner said he just rebuilt the engine. Please help so i can figure out why it says its running lean.

You say "codes" but only list P0174. Do you also have P0171?

Did you clear the codes from memory first?

That's the fairly common "lean" code. Usually caused by a vacuum leak in the intake system. One of the PCV hoses comes to mind but not sure. It's probably described in one of the threads below.

If you have the right tool you can see "pending codes". There might be a P0171 there. One has to set first, the other might be close behind.
