2003 supercrew that will continuosly crank when cold like it is out of gas then finally start, after warms up starts good all day . had thottle body cleaned but trying to decifer problem systematically help please!!!!!!

 

Fuel filter. Fuel pressure. Fuel pump.

 

Crank position sensor was going bad on dad's old 99' 4.6 and caused the exact same problem you described. Would run great once cranked but it took a bit for the engine to fire

 

Thanks for the info that makes perfect sense had a similar situation on a different vehicle a long time ago , forgot all about it till i read your post
