Default Climate control swap

I have a 2001 f150 super crew with the 5.4 v8. I was looking on the Internet and spotted a digital climate control. My original one with the dials has broken vacuum ports on the back. So my vent dampener doesn't work. Could I swap out with the digital climate control or is it impossible.

I've seen it done with Crown Vics, so I don't see how it couldn't work here. You'd just need all the parts to make it happen. Did you try searching on here for someone who's done it already?

My buddy tried it and stopped because it was gonna cost a ton. I think this option is a big project, pretty sure you have to get computer reprogrammed too.

I was gonna do it but dont wanna spend a ton for that. plus you need to get new dash piece as well since its different size then 3 ****.

If you do it let me know because i will do it as well.

Keep me posted on this.

Did a quick google search and came to the conclusion that it would require a lot of parts, time and money, to do the same thing you can do now (assuming it was working properly). My advice is to fix what is broken and go about your day.

Yea I just found some old forum discussions. I have to change wiring and add sensors. Too much work. I just have to buy a new climate control that works. Mine has broken vacuum connection on the back. eBay sells used control for about $30. Stick with the original equipment

I can get you the controls from a Junkyard for $5.00

What I am looking for is the whole head unit. The vacuum **** on the back has one broken one. The #6 port. That one controls the defrost vent to panel vent. Are you talking about the whole unit or just the *****.

Prolly get it for 20 bucks, but taking it out with all the hoses and wires would be a PITA...

I bought one off eBay for $35 and getting the wires and hoses off isn't that bad. Just pop the trim piece off and 4 bolts.
