Default Cleaning Running Boards

I have a 2002 K/R with the factory running boards. What do you use to clean them, and remove the scuff marks/tar, etc., without ruining the finish??

Thanx

the plastic ones I'm guessing. I'd say some bug and tar remover and clean them really good. Then some collinite 845 ( it worked on my tubular ones and wasn't greasy )
