Cleaning engine bay

Is it better to clean with the truck running or not? I here mixed opinions

Don't think it matters. I do it when it's not running and it has cooled a bit. But then I start it and dry it a bit.

Id say it prolly wouldnt matter... The fan spraying water everwhere may get annoying but thats it, and id stay away from your throttle body cause im sure any opening would be happy to suck in some water

just dont pressure wash. all of the connections are pressurized and sealed so you shouldnt have to run it.

Always done mine cold. Spray with diluted APC(one that doesn't attack aluminum)and use a brush to agitate. Spray off with power washer holding about two feet away. Hit it with a leaf blower to remove most of the water than start the vehicle to warm up. When dry and cool I hit it with CD2 following the directions. Using a little common sense goes a long way, cover what needs to be covered.

New here and this post helps already! Picked up a nice 98', but the engine compartment is nasty and needs cleaning up bad.....

Be very careful when cleaning it you get water down the spark plug holes your truck will be missing like crazy i would honestly wipe it by hand and a spray bottle
