Cleaners.
So I need some way to clean my motor but I don't wanna take the heads off to get to everything so I've been using lucas additive treatment and haven't really notice a diffrence. Anyone wanna recommend what I should us.? I looked at seafoam but I've heard mixed things about it. Please help. Thanks.
Are you trying to clean the piston tops or ring pack or both? Do you think there is carbon build up to start with? A good PEA cleaner like Techron will clean valves and pistons all the way through the cats and exhaust. A product like Kreen will take care of the rings and internals. Lucas is mainly pale oil and really doesn't have any cleaners.

The Techron I'd do no matter what because it can't hurt. Should be done periodically anyways even with top tier fuel. The link has some good reading on some of the research that has proven PEA to be the cleaning standard for the fuel/top end. The Kreen, first determine whether you need it or not. If you can see sludge down the oil fill hole or in the PCV system then you could use it. If it looks fairly clean just use a higher detergent package oil like Penz Ultra to get rid of slight varnish.
