Default Chatter after shutting engine off???

Hey all,

2002 5.4 Lariat 4x4 93xxx miles, currently running mobil 1 5w-20 w/ motorcraft filter. Got home the other day after a normal drive and shut off the engine, which was followed by an odd chattering noise that lasted only a second. Not sure if it could be related to timing chains, but it had the sound of chain chatter. Only lasted a split second and have heard it once or twice when shutting engine off. Any idea on what this could be? Also on a side note, since switching to M1, there just seems to be a little bit more engine noise. Have used it past two oil changes (5000 change intervals), syn-blend was used prior. Any body else experience this with M1? Thinking about switching to valvoline synpower or to MC syn-blend. Any thoughts? Thanks for the input!
