Center brake hose replacement
I've got 181K on the original hose only because the 2 aftermarket replacement hoses I've bought have never seated up correctly on the flare fitting, thought I got a defective hose the first time so I took it back and have been using the old hose since the leak it has is very small, usually takes a few months to see the fluid and dirt mix on the axle housing.
Did a replacement on brake parts in 2011 everything except MC and ABS module. New RABS sensor last week.
I'm at a loss as I can't figure out why the center rear hose will not seal up at the hard line connection from the master cylinder?
Does anyone know if the Ford part will be any different than the cheaper hose?
The only difference I can tell between the Ford part and aftermarket is the flare in the female connection on my hose is flattened and the new one is domed I figure this is why the new part gushes brake fluid. Hate to have to spend the $89 for the Ford hose only to find out that it is exactly the same as the $14 raybestos hose.
I'm not sure if the flare on the hardline is no good or what the deal is?
