Default Is this cause of my P0453 code?

Wondered if my damaged fuel filler neck was the likely cause of the 0453 code?

If so, though about trying some epoxy to 'remake' the right profile, to seal. Unless you have better ideas.

Thanks.

Have you Googled the code?
It is an evap code. https://www.obd-codes.com/p0453

I'm going to say yes on this.

You aren't getting a good seal on the gas cap. I'm not sure trying to epoxy or JB Weld it would work, you would have to be really precise when shaping it to get the right seal.

They are a bit of a pain to replace. Have you checked junkyards for a replacement?

Yes, I'd looked up the code, which is a bit 'general'?

I suspect epoxy would work, and would be fiddly to get just right. Also guess it would be cheaper and much faster than trying replacement.

Thanks.

Absolutely ... that is your small leak. not sure on how to tell you to fix it though. Junk yard and pull another neck maybe.

Used some JB Weld Plastic Bonder to build up the missing plastic. CEL continued, so did just a touch more sanding, then unplugged and plugged the FTPS connector several times. CEL now gone!

I've found Plastic Bonder to be amazing on plastics, unlike most epoxies. Different colors in pic make it look like it's not smooth, but it is.
