Question cats

Sorry about this dumb question, but this is my first truck/car so i don't know much yet.

However, after lots of reading, I think my cats are clogged, since I don't have the money, and really, REALLY need to get the power back, i was just removing them until I get the money.

So, the dumb question: are these my cats?

yes those are your cats but if you are going to remove them make sure you remove both and weld a nut to the piece of pipe you are going to put in so you can hook up your 02 sensore if not your truck will run even worst

yes it is ilegal but many people are doing it when my cats were plugged i took them off gutted them ran a piece of 3 inch pipe through them so they wouldnt plug again and welded them back up so on a visual inspection it all looks legal and it works seing we dont have emission testing where i live
