Could you convert a catback exhaust to true dual if so how?

Yes you can you just cut the back two cats and then weld two straight pipes that go to the mufflers and that should give you some extra horses and mpg, if your lookin to just make your truck louder then dont put on the mufflers just straight pipes but be careful in some states like mine(cali) converting to true dual especially with no cats is illegal

 

Actually modifying the CAT set up in any state is illegal. But if you live somewhere where they either don't check, or don't care, you can get away with it. Emissions laws regarding parts on a vehicle are federal... 49 state legal with Cali having their own more stringent laws in place for whatever dumb reason. And yet, with all their stricter laws, I still see cars smoking like a SOB and the infamous brown haze over the cities every time I go there.. Go figure...

 

That's what I have, if I'm reading this correct. I just took my truck to the shop and said, "I want true dual straights from the cats back" and now she's sounding mean lol
