My main concern is passing emmisions and not having my check engine light on. I'm nervous that if I hollow out the cats (destroying them) that later on my light will come on, and I'll have to buy new cats or simulators; and I probably wont haqve any extra cash to buy anything mod-wise for awhile.

 

as long as you keep the front two cats intact and keep the o2 sensors in their stock position you should be fine.

 

i HAVE my back two out and the front two hollowed out with NO CEL and NO problems whatsoever and its been a year or so. if you cut em just make sure the o2 sensors are in about the same position as stock. i still have all kinds of power. i smoked my friends 03 duramax and im on 35s. im runnin about 11-13 mpg in winter but b4 winter i was seeing about 16
