Default Can't shift into low

The thumb adjuster and bracket are in good condition and fully adjustable. I'v adjusted all the way and Park thru D2 work and shift just like they're suppose to. With it adjusted out I can't get the lever to pull the cable into low. I've handled the broken bracket before on my other trucks but not one you can't adjust out. Is the cable stretched and is there a MacGyver fix for this or am I faced with a cable replacement? Come winter when I use 4x4 low I'll want to be able to shift into low.

Disregard it's fixed. The shifter bracket screws were loose. In fact one was ready to fall out. It's just at 72 I'm not as flexible a contortionist as I used to be!
