I'm currently replacing my timing chain cover gasket on my 2000 4.2 f150, the question I have is dose my engine HAVE to be top dead center to pull it out? I'm just pulling the cover off long enough to replace the old gasket, I don't plan on moving anything. The reason I ask is the crankshaft pulley bolt is a bear to break free and I'm going to have to move the pulley some to get my crowbar in there to rest against the frame so I can crank that bolt off. Thanks for the help.
