Call a lifeguard
Almost saw F150 drown this weekend.
It was a fairly steep public boat ramp on a tidal waterway and an F150 4X4 was backing a huge boat and trailer in. I am not kidding, the boat was over twice the size of the truck. One guy was in the boat giving instructions the driver had his window down, I was waiting my turn and watching. The Tide was going out so the ramp was still wet. "C'mon back, c'mon back" the guy in the boat yells. Then it happens, the boat starts sliding down the ramp towards the water. The guy in the truck puts on brakes, truck keeps sliding. He give it gas, the wheels spin, both truck and boat are heading for the water. Nothing will stop the nightmare. The guy in the boat is cursing and screaming as everything slides toward Davy Jone's locker. No joke, at low tide it is almost 8 feet deep at the end of the ramp. Then it happens, the frame of the truck grabs the edge of the exposed concrete boat ramp sticking up at the end (due to low tide) and the truck gets stuck on the concrete and the boat and trailer are now floating stopping it from doom. A farmer with a Ford F350 duallie comes to the rescue and pulls the truck off the ramp after the boat is put into the water and off the trailer. So folks, remember, if something you are towing weighs more than your truck, it can drag you with it if it wants to. Also just because the truck can tow a max weight it does not mean you should. Oh yea, I love my little aluminum 16Ft boat and 25HP motor.
