Default Cal Van 38900 tool rental in Las Vegas

Does anyone in the Las Vegas area rent or lend the Cal Van 38900 tool for repairing the sparkplug blowout damage talked about in the following articles?

Hey Jesse, did you ever find out? I just had two blow out and really don't have the money to fork out to buy the kit. I'd hate to use heli-coil.

Are you in vegas to? I'm in Salt Lake and I have the timesert tool. Not sure I want to deal with the hassel of renting it though..

I was wondering if you still had yours the other day. False alarm, wasn't a plug, -the header flange broke at the head. Sounds just like a plug preparing to launch lol.

Yes, I'm in Vegas too. I really want to go the Cal-Van route. I don't like having to use the long spark plug when you use the Time-sert kit.

There really is no difference between Timesert and Cal-Van as they do exactly the same thing, reaming out the spark plug hole, threading it then installing a steel insert. The inserts are also the same length in both brands. Unless your running lawnmower plugs in your engine, regular plugs will have plenty of reach.

I dunno what your imagining. The repaired plug hole uses the exact same plug as it did before..
