Default Cabin filter PIA!

Anyone else ever put in or replaced their cabin filter, thought it would be a simple task but it turned out to be a bit of a pain had to cut out the insert and broke the filter putting it in haha. At the end of the day it's done, anyone else tried this or have tips for future changes. Pretty big mess too bunch of leaves and debris fell on my face

Do they even sell the kit anymore? I heard it was discontinued back in 04 when the new body style came out.

It's right above where the passenger's feet would be, you have to remove the black cover (7mm socket, 3 screws, there currently is no filter so you need to manually cut the cap to the filter compartment with a sharp blade it's a pain in the ***. The cap pops off, be ready for debris to fall, it can be a pain to put the filter in to especially if you snap it like I did. The filter you get should have a black seal and cap on the bottom with a tab for easier future removal, good luck.
