I have a 2000 F150 5.4 with 150k and a failing auto transmission. I recently bought a 2003 F150 FX4 4.6 with 33k that had a tree fall on its cab and crush it. What I was hoping to do is swap my 2K cab onto the '03 frame and run it. I'm really not that excited about downgrading to the smaller 4.6 as I'm planning to use the truck to tow my 4Runner 4wheelin rig. So maybe you guys can chime in and tell me how much worse off I'll be towing with the smaller V8, because if it's gonna be too awful then I may just try to swap my 5.4 behind the '03 tranny if it is at all possible...
