A/C Problem and Solution
Over the past 2 years, the A/C in my 1999 F150 has gotten worse. The previously ice cold A/C had gotten cool, then warm.
The issue is the suction/discharge hose. It had corroded, and caused a pinhole leak where the r134 came out.
I found it when I replaced the passenger side exhaust manifold, which had a hole rotted in it.

I still wonder why most of the "hoses" are not metal with rubber only being used to connect the metal pipes when needed for flexibility.
This hose thing really aggravates me.
I had a high pressure hose burst on a brand new Ford.
You should have seen it, it was like an IED had gone off under the hood. White smoke, hissing noise, loud explosive sound like a bomb. Fortunately I had just started it up and was not on the road yet.
One of the neighbors called police and reported an explosion.
What a mess.

Mine quit working last summer. I thought it was a small line with a little accumulator in it. turns out It's part of the a/c manifold. $310 I dont tink so, but it is 90 degrees out and I live in north central PA. ( Not use to this heat).
