Default A/C Air Volume

Hello all,
First time poster here.

The a/c in my pickup is plenty cold enough but the air volume is not what it use to be. The blower fan is working, the directional control functions, I hear the air blowing, but there's only about 50% flowing from dash vents. It's like it has some kind of blockage or something. Anybody had this problem before? I don't know where to start.

(I just know somebody's gona tell me to pull the dash! )

98 F150 V6 ~ bought this truck new and now has 354,000+ miles.

Two things, Air filter and dirty blower fan. Check the Cabin air filter first. Autozone has the cabin filter for $15.00 to $21.00 dollars depending on brand.

I did not even know there was a Cabin air filter.

Where do I access it? Where is it located?

Thanks, Fitz

I don't think there is a cabin air filter.

You got a good shop air compressor?
Buddy at work pulled his truck in and stuck the air wand in the vents, just to see what blew out. Damn there was a lotta dust shooting out. If there's a cabin filter, remove it and blow out the vents while its out

Yes it does have a cabin filter they started using them in 1997, it is located under the dash. below is the link the the filter at Autozone. It is unclear if all F150's had this some of the info indicates it was a option.

There are some after market filters incorporate activated charcoal.

Well I appreciate all the input. One way to find out for sure.
Its Sunday night now, but I'll find out one way or another tomorrow after work and post my findings then.
