Default Bypass needed on my 03??

I need some help on my 03 F-150, EFI, 5.4L, 4X4, auto, and no power locks. I want to buy and install an aftermarket remote starter. Is my key coded? I don't think so. What is included, as far as security components, in the anti-theft system. And the big question is will I need the by-pass on the remote starter? Thanks ahead of time! Reddyford

i have a viper remote start i had to get an extra copy of my key at a dealership since it has a chip in it. yours should have one. what they did is put my key in some kind of module to allow the truck to start.

I got a ford PATS bypass module from Ebay to go along with my remote start. Then you can just program the module and you get to keep both of your keys. Heres a link to the one I've got: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DEI-5...Q5fAccessories

Thanks guys, your info is a big help. The install clip at JC Penny has hard wiring involved under the dash. http://www.jcwhitney.com/rs160-remot.../p2020143.jcwx Even tho I'm an Elec Tech I don't see that happening. It's a cheap system cause I spent a lot of cash on this great truck.
Is the Viper or any other system plug and play?
