burning plastic smell
I posted this several days ago and got one response, requesting pictures.
Since then my research has provided it me further knowledge so I can provide more information.
I have removed and cleaned the EGR valve. The pipe from the exhaust to the EGR and the two smaller pipes/tubes that go to the DPFE are the ones that get very hot from exhaust gases. The insulation on these pipes start to burn causing the burning plastic smell.
I read that if there is insufficient exhaust gas to the EGR, than it would code indicating that. I have no code showing on my OBDII.
However, I read it is probably the DPFE.
Any thought?
