That's a really good idea of mounting it! Never thought about having it bolt up where the hooks were. Future idea for mine im building. Looks really good!

some problems with the tow hook mount point is 1. make sure your bumper goes low enough to cover the frame rails, (mine just barely covers it) and 2. this design eliminates the possibility of using this bumper with a body lift in the future. If I were to build another one I would start with the mount first then build the shell to fit

Good thought. I was going to build the mount first, then build around it. And true, can't use it with a bodylift cause it will sit low.

yep very true ^^ this is the reason I don't have a body lift on my truck

the bumper looks great by the way! good job and can't wait to see it done. have you thought about adding a bullnose? I know mine is diamond plate but you get the idea

I have no future plans for a body lift so it makes no difference, and the nice thing about steel is with a little knowledge and skill it will do what you want, it wouldn't be hard to change the mount to work in different ways

general lee, Yes I have thought about adding some type of grill guard or prerunner bar but for the moment it will stay the way it is, did you make your bumper? it looks good

Very true. Never thought of that. I have a body lift so I would have to do somethin different. Most likely build brackets first like ^^ he was talkin about. Thanks for pointing that out, guys!
