Bucket seats, center console
I'm going to look at a parts truck that has bucket seats and center console, exactly what I've been looking for to do a swap!
Question is I'm assuming it's easy but since I'll have to take my tools with me and go to his house I don't want to hit a road block at someone's house...
Is the seats just 4 bolts ?
What about taking out the center console? Any special tools?
Thanks guys

Yes, 4 bolts per seat. Most bolts have T47 head but on 2004 Expedition that I got my seats from also have hex head (13 and 15 mm).
Center console sits on 2 metal brackets. Two T47 or 13/15 mm head bolts per bracket. The console is bolted to the brackets with four 8 or 10 mm head. To access these bolts, you will have to remove 2 small torx bolts. I don't remember the size.
A torx set including T47, and a metric wrench set are what you need. If the seats are electric, you may need a battery to move the seats.

If in the rust belt, better take 3 T55's with yuh...You'll ruin at least 2 of them lol. Break em or round them off....maybe both!

Sounds like you might need a bottle of Kroil too, LOL.

Shoot, Kroil won't help here, not with SOME of those bolts. I don't use the factory seat bolts because some were sized wrong at the factory. The bolts that were were too long, too much stick-out under the cab. When they rusted, they rust so bad it fills the threads. I had to chop the heads on a few and run them completely through to remove them. I forget which ones are like that, it's 2 or 3 of them though. But they are 1 -1.5" to long. I replaced them all with hex heads ,10.9's eventually. It was a situation that you either torch them out or run them through lol.

Thanks guys , went there and they ended up being bench seats... what a waist of time, dumb *** didn't know what bucket seats are. I was so pissed. I'm still looking for a good set at the local pick a part so I'll still need this info. Thank you again.
