Grounded to the factory ground for the trailer light harness, fuse box is giving it power.

Ground used was the factory ground for the trailer harness. The white wire is factory ground, blue and black ones are grounds for both lights.

I used the ground for the trailer light harness, found by removing the spare tire and it is located on the left frame rail. The white wire is a factory ground wire where as the blue and black wires are grounds for the lights.Brighter Reverse lights!-dscf1369.jpg

For the power, I used the large wire that feeds the Power Distribution Box under the hood, just remove the cover and the small cover over the stud just pulls off easily. This wire also has a inline fuse, don't forget. (NOTE if you remove the stud and wire it will reset everything in the cab, radio...) Just make sure it's tight before testing the lights, otherwise they won't work.

The power wire, from under the hood, comes to one side of the switch. My switch is illuminated so one of the terminals is a ground for the light in the switch. I did not hook that up so it just operates as a normal switch. Anyway, the hot wire comes to one side of the switch. It is not permanently mounted, but this is where I have it. The hot wires coming from the lights are heat shrink butt connected together. They then were wrapped with electrical tape for good measure. At one of the splices, I'd have both wires from the lights and one wire that will run to the switch.

Here is where I ran the wires in the cab, just under the driver's sill plate.

And the final product!

Hope that helps, I'll try and get some up tonight to show ya what it looks like. Sorry it took me so long to reply, my camera settings were off for this forum had to resize all the images.

I've seen a lot of people do that, just don't wrap the wires around the column. I've seen that and had to fix it, while working at the a Ford dealer. It is a good switch location.

BrowningS - Thats a Hella lot of light! I don't blame ya though, if I had the lights they'd be going there too! Can't wait to see some picts!

My switches are going to go above the Pioneer head unit. In the "slot" that the adapter has for the single din units. I have a sheet of aluminum that I'll cut to fit, then instal the switches. Hopefully it'll look good.

My switch plate is just a piece of diamond tread bed railing that I cut and bent to fit that metal plate back there and still clear the fuse cover and hood latch. I painted it with duplicolor metal cast blue and it came out real good I think

I thought about getting some of that tread plate, what'd ya pay for it if ya don't mind me askin? I was in Lowes today and they wanted around $15 for a piece or something. I have a 4'x7' piece of plain aluminum ready to go.
