Default Breaklights staying on

I have a 2000 f150 and both of my breaklights stay on while I drive. If I press on the break the lights don't light up like they should but my turn signals still work. Any suggestions on what it could be?

Bad brake light switch most likely. Simple easy fix. Watch the wires. One of them might be broken, and that would be the same as a bad switch. Check the wires first. You did say they were on, so it is 99% probable that it is the switch.

Should be a switch on the brake pedal that causes the lights to come on when the pedal is pushed. It could have worked loose. Had it happen on my F250. Look for it on the arm of the pedal.

if its like my 1999 it'll be the turn signal switch (brake lights run through it too), probably a bad switch, real easy to replace. 3 screws holding the cover on, unscrew the adjusteroad, and 2 torx screws hold the switch in
