i got the duralast ceramic ones, they got the lifetime warranty if you get the ones from auto zone, and you can take them back when they wear out, ive done it twice, they stop good, and they dont squeek

Sorry I was half asleep when I wrote this original post. I am in need of brake pads, good ones, that won't have large amounts of brake dust. I also am going to need rotors....has anyone put some slotted rotors on their truck, if so where did you get them and what brand.....

Raybestos rotors. Don't bother with the slotted, they are only for SEVERE duty. Go with the Raybestos Ceramic Pads. Best on the market.

Can't remember what pads I got but I got new rotors, bearings, and inner bearing seals from Advance auto all at the same time and the truck stops like new without any vibrations. I didn't know it but the new rotors already come with bearing races pressed in, now that's a time saver.

So with the Raybestos ceramic pads....will the dust stay to a minimum?
Don't go slotted, gotcha!

Do the rotors improve stopping power, or is it just for longevity?

Ceramic pads do seem to put out less dust (at least on my rims) the only problem I have with ceramic pads is ( I haven't noticed yet ) but they wear the rotor quicker( I don't know if this is true). Do they stop better? I really don't know I never checked my stopping distance before I bought them nor have I checked it since. As for slotted rotors the only thing their good for is telling you when it's time to replace your rotor(as I've been told).

I work at Carolina Rim & Wheel. We sell Raybestos rotors and pads to fleet accountsmainly, but also to the public. The ceramic pads do keep the dust down, also it is a lighter color so it doesn't show up as much.

As with the slotted rotors, they are there for extra cooling which help to prevent warpage. The slots are not wear indicators. But as I stated earlier you don't need them unless you are in a severe duty usesituation. The Raybestos standard rotors are way better than the stock rotors.

As for ceramic pads wearing the rotors.... They will wear the OEM rotors faster, but not the Raybestos rotors. The main problem with the stock rotors is the warpage, not the life of the rotor.

What are your collective thoughts about the advantages/disadvantages of cryogenic or "frozen" aftermarket rotors?
