Default Brake problems

I've got a '98 and have been having brake problems for the last year. I had the truck in storage for 6 months while I was going through training for the Army. I get back, everything seemed normal for a while but when warmer tempatures hit, my front brakes were worthless. The driverside rotor warped, pads turned to dust and the pistons in the caliper would not collapse when I was putting new pads and a new rotor on. So I bought a reman caliper, bled the lines and it was fine for 6 months. Now, everytime I go out to my truck, put it in gear, start rolling and tap the brakes, they automatically lock up. I'll start driving and when I hit the brakes, they seem normal till I come to a complete stop.... when I go to release them, you can hear and feel my driverside caliper sticking. I can be at a dead stop and let off the brake and the truck will not roll. My buddy is a mechanic but is really busy and the shop he works for charges a $75 fee for them to look at it. Now my $100 set of EBC brake pads are worn out with only 1500ish miles on them and I get a vibration/shaking in the front end.....

Default bad brakes

I've read where the lining of the brake hoses may detach and not allow fluid to flow.
what about contaminated fluid . the truck was sitting for a while and may have moisture in the fluid . I can't imagine the brakes being so bad after only six months .

also if the rotor was warped the caliper mount may be warped . I had that problem on another of my vehicles that surprised the heck out of me . the car had not been wrecked and is driven very friendly like . took it in after doing all i could and thats what it was a warped caliper mount . the breaks would lock up after driving stop / go about five miles .

good luck hope you solve your problem .

Definately not normal. I like the idea about the brake hose from gassign, something to consider, the warped caliper mount is also interesting, jury is out on that idea.

This thought should apply to all wheels not just the left front, been talk about adjusting the clearance between the power booster rod and master cylinder, this is a very dangerous excercise as it could result in brakes not releasing (master cylinder is never allowed to return the fluid back to reservoir when brakes are released). If you or anyone one adjusted this rod, recheck this adjustment, specs call for about .009 clearance.
