brake line wtf? pics inside, tell me how bad my axle is!

That is most likely your leak right there. It looks worn through quite a bit. I bet if you get someone to press the pedal you will see some residual fluid bubble out or hear air.
By the way, changing that shaft is an easy job but breaking the torque on those inboard shaft bolts can be a real pain unless you have an air wrench.

ck along the frame rail behind the fuel tank for a brake fluid leak also, they are
famous for leaking there. and as stated I think the metal line is bent, regardless I would
replace it since it has been wearing on the halfshaft. One other thing, look closely at
the lower control arm where the ball joint is, looks like a crack to me but could be an optical illusion.

Today has been the first day w/o rain. went and bot some brake fluid and pumped while someone looked, and
BING BING BING BING. this is my leak! obviously i still need to fix the axle and that other line. But the leak is coming from frame rail behind the fuel tank. Is this a hard line? how hard is it to replace? do i need to drop the tank?

yes a hard line 3/16 depends on how professional of a job you want to do.
It can be done without pulling the tank just feed the new line in behind it,
there should be a union just forward of the tank where you can run
the new line from. I use a bulk roll of line which is easier to bend and
just double flare the ends. the pre made straight lines at the auto parts
are harder to bend and don't flare as easily, but if you don't have the
tools to flare or knowledge then I would get the pre done pieces.

I just purchased the roll, comes in 26' rolls of 3/16 I believe. I replaced all the hard lines when I did it. 1rst time doing it. Purchased a cheap flaring kit X2. I got half way through and the cheap kits wear out. Had to buy another. Wasn't a big deal, the flaring kits are cheap and I did the entire truck.
For the line that runs the frame rail, Ford split that line in two pieces. It's split right by the tank tucked up in the rail. I deleted the split and made it just one piece.
Anyway, it's an option.
BTW- I only had one leaker once I was finished and that was at the rear wheel. I forget what the part is called that wears out in these cheap kits. But once they do it's harder to create a good flare. So I had to do one in the rear over again. It wasn't bad.
I've also heard that RA sells pre-made brake line kits now.

All I know is twice in my life that has happened to me and one time my negative cable had broken off at the post and the other time I had a bad negative cable grounding point....corroded. They were different vehicles but it sounds to me like a bad ground.

Not really. When I sign in to reply to a thread I sometimes get redirected back to an old thread and I think I am answering the thread I was trying to reply on. Then I have yet to figure out how to delete the post I made on the wrong thread.
So my question is...what damn button deletes a post?

Hammer....I don't think that there is one. I just go into edit and delete it and write in oops or err or whatever.
