Default Brake Help

Ok, I'm in need of a little help here. I use my 98 for work every day and drive it over 500 miles a week. Yesterday on my way home from work the brake pedal got real spongy and soft. The truck doesn't want to brake until the pedal gets close to the floor and then it seems to stop fairly normally, but its making like a metal on metal sound. First instinct was to bleed all the brakes (did that multiple times). They're still doing the same thing. Pads and rotors are new from last summer as well as brake lines up front. It's almost like the truck stops fine when going in reverse, but not in drive, like it's the front brakes. Kinda like the front pads aren't squeezing on the rotor properly. The squealing metal noise doesn't happen when stopping in reverse.

Thoughts? Master cylinder maybe? I'm stumped and need this back on the road by Monday.

I imagine youve done this already but check the calipers fro cracks and leaks.

I checked over the entire brake system for any leaks and it's all bone dry. The fluid level hasn't changed from the max mark.

Well, gonna go buy a new master cylinder today since I don't see any leaks anywhere. When I hit the brakes I can see bubbles coming up in the master. Hopefully that will fix the issue. Calipers up front are new from last summer.

Bubbles means air in your lines. Bleed your brakes.

If anyone is interested, it was the Master Cylinder.
