My BOO switch is not functioning properly. I installed a new brake booster. I didn't pay as much attention as I should have to the BOO when removing but it seemed straight forward. There is a plastic washer against the brake pedal shaft. There is a black top hat plastic bushing that goes in the booster rod. Then the the booster rod slides between the two sides of the BOO switch. Then the rod and switch together are slid onto the brake pedal shaft. Another plastic washer then cotter pin.
What am I missing?

It does not appear like there is enough play for the booster rod to activate the switch. If I remove the black plastic top hat bushing then it's quite sloppy and the switch works.
