2000 f150 v6 well cared for with 130000. Was driving around town the other day and it started knocking very bad. It broke the rod off the piston and was laying in parts in the bottom of my oil pan! Any idea why this would happen? the truck always gets it's regular maintenance! Yes it had oil in it!

 

Just because it had oil doesnt mean that it was getting pumped through the block a likely culprit would be your oil pump.
