Default Blower motor speeds 2/3 the same?

Since i purchased my 2002 F150, I noticed that switching the blower motor between speeds 2 and 3 results in no change in air moving. Running on the #3 position is just as much air flow as #2.

I just swapped out the resistor and still the same behavior. Any tips on figuring out if it is the control panel, or the blower motor itself? I've got the manual air controls, not the digital one.

It's not a huge issue since it still blows air, but it drives me nuts!

If it was my truck and it bothered me I would replace the blower motor.

Mine was the connector going to the resistor. I bought a new one on Amazon

I don't think it is the cable in my situation. I've seen pictures of burnt up ones, but mine looks totally fine.

I was thinking possibly the blower motor also, but it looks like it is only a two wire hookup so I assume it changes speed solely based on input voltage, selected at the switches.

I guess I am leaning more towards a faulty switch right now, just wanted to see if anyone else had run in to this before.

either you coincidentally got a bad cheap chinese resistor
I have read this happening where symptom was exactly same due to defective resistor.

or you have shorted wires or switch that is bypassing one speed

you can check for continuity between the wires for the two different speeds from the switch, at switch and at resistor.
