Default Black Bumpers

I currently have chrome bumpers and grey valance on my 2002 F150. I want all three pieces to become black. Should I attempt to sand and primer and paint the chrome or just buy new factory painted black bumpers/valance. Looking for opinions. Thanks!

I painted my valance black:

Might not be the best pic. All I did to mine was wash it real good at the car wash, cleaned it with paint thinner then sprayed 4 coats of Krylon Fusion for plastic on an hour apart. No sanding or primer needed. It has been painted since early August and has not chipped, cracked or faded once

i just painted my front and back bumpers from chrome to black with duplicolors black chrome... turned out really good IMO. diddnt sand it down at all, just cleaned the sh*t out of it. followed directions exactly so i guess we will see how it holds up. ill post some pics tomm. o ya and for the front and back bumpers i actually used three and a half of the duplicolor black chrome kits.

So it's no big deal going over chrome? I've been told it doesn't stick.
