THIS was interesting from the posted TSB... a small quote;
Ph 3 of Article No. 02-1-9
1997-2002 2V 5.4 F150-250
(under GVW 8500 lb only) Expedition E-Series, E350 Chassis/RV/Cutaway
So 20 wt yields to 30 for F150s over 8500 lbs. Some of us then MIGHT up to a 5-30 for certain trips. Too bad noone makes a 5-25, heh heh. I might use this as a reason to use my 5-20 & 5-30 mixes, at least sometimes or if I add a camper. (I do run a topper.) Maybe 4qts of 5-20 & 2 of 5-30. Heh heh!
My low traffic street barely has a down-slope, but I use it to idle a long block down to the corner to let oil begin to circulate up to the cams etc. I go easy for 2 more minutes. (Wish my oil pressure gauge was not a PHONY. I WANT/NEED to get one of those tuners w a myriad of sensor readouts.)
Read up on the hyper-something pistons, mentioned, that seems to apply to our 10th gens. Only good to 500HP, brittle, but expand 1/10th as much as forged. (Tighter piston-wall tolerances possible.)

...ah thanks. It's what I suspected. I'm sticking with the 30w stuff. If I was worried about fuel economy the truck wouldn't be in my driveway. How much better could it be? One mile per gallon? I doubt even that. I got burned bad by GM trying to meet CAFE standards at the time so I take everything with a grain of salt.
